Expectations:
I will try to give realistic expectations of these procedures. Naturally, everyone has a different pain tolerance. Some people almost fall asleep while others are very nervous.
With all these procedures, it is very important to keep the pigmented area lubricated.
Eyebrows:
- My description for brows is that they sting, but it would not stop me from getting it done.
- There are a lot of nerves in the brow area. I use very good anesthetics; however, some discomfort can still be felt in this area.
- Brows usually do a fair amount of oozing of blood after the procedure, but this is taken care of easily with the application of ice.
- Eyebrows swell the least.
- Eyebrows are definitely a two part process.
- Sometimes brows are intially dramatic.
Eyeliner:
- My description for the eyeliner is that it is weird. You need to relax and trust.
- Eyeliner is the least painful of the procedures.
- Eyeliner is always a 2 part process.
- Eyeliner typically swells the worst. Some bruising can happen, although it is rare.
- Swelling usually resolves within a few days.
- Clients are advised to ice as soon as possible. Frozen peas work well covered by a clean muslin dishtowel.
Lips:
- My description for the lip is that it is tender.
- The first two passes are the worst. Although you might think that this would be a horribly painful procedure, I use an anesthetic that makes it very comfortable.
- For the first couple days, your lips will be full and it will look like you are wearing wonderful lipstick.
- You won't see the final results until after 4 weeks.
- You cannot make your lips larger than they are.
- Lips are not the same skin as your face; for this reason, I like to apply them 3 times.
- Touchups cannot be done until after 4-6 weeks.
- Clients can choose a Full lip or Blended lipliner.
- If you have ever had a cold sore, you will need to pre-medicate with a prescription anti-viral.
